At only 4 years young, Benji has had more adventures than most pups (and people) have in a lifetime. A fun-loving, playful Jack Russell with an infectious smile that has everyone giving him the attention he deserves.
When Benji was only 10 months old his owner suddenly passed away. Not knowing how anything would work out, his owner’s son and daughter-in-law took Benji back to their home. With two cats already living in the house and a business to run, it was an immediate decision based on sad circumstances not practicalities.
By the next morning, his new owners realised that Benji was meant to be in their lives and they could see that every day would be special with his infectious smile. Benji helped his new parents through some of their darkest days of grief and brought love and comfort when they needed it most.
His cat brother and sister also welcomed him into the family and so his new home and work life began. Unused to being left alone, Benji accompanied his parents to their office. The team instantly fell in love with him and his distraction methods worked a treat.
In 2018 Benji won the grand title of PurinaUK Office Dog of the Year. Being the kind hearted boy that he is, Benji donated his years supply of dog food to a local dogs home.
But it’s not all work and no play for Benji. Living in South Wales, Benji gets to explore so many beautiful places and enjoys a walk and a cooling dip in a stream after a tough day at work. An intrepid adventurer he holds his own pet passport and has travelled to some of the most beautiful places in Europe, which led him to sharing his adventures in his very own dog friendly travel blog.
To date, he has travelled to Switzerland, Germany, France and Belgium exploring the prettiest places in each country. Benji loves his holidays and lives the 5 star lifestyle in hotels in Europe where it is very dog friendly to the extent that he is allowed everywhere, on trains, castles, restaurants where he and his humans are all welcomed by the locals. His humans love of Ginger Ted was discovered when they searched for a suitable dog coat that would be great for travelling as a lot of their exploring was through the winter. Being a little Jack Russell, Benji needed a good, practical dog coat and Ginger Ted came as a recommendation by Daphne on Instagram. Fortunately for us all, Benji is a happy model and loves to stay warm on his adventures. Benji and his coat collection have enjoyed photos taken with the best European backdrop!
The winning photo was taken in The Black Forest of Germany where there was snow on the ground making it picture perfect for a Christmas theme. Benji loves to have his photo taken and his humans always ensure he as fun during any photo shoots. The winning shot involved his human taking a tumble in the snow, but it was absolutely worth it for the end result!
All our dogs provide unconditional love to their families and Benji certainly does this with true spirit and warmth. He visits residential homes to bring a smile to the residents and is great with children. Aside from his parents, his favourite human is Elin, they're besties who have endless fun together.
Benji really is the happiest pup, whether it’s exploring Europe, forests in Wales, hiking in the mountains or walking on the beach, he’s always smiling. Even when it’s dinner time, his favourite food is vegetables and usually eats his veggies first!
Benji brought unexpected joy and adventure to his family and quickly settled into family and working life showing us all how to keep smiling and believe in magic.
